Tuff Cab Speaker Paint Large Roller (9")
These textured rollers are suitable for use with any water based paint, or artex to produce a textured finish. Results vary, and its best to practise on scrap wood to get the right effect before working on your final finish. We have tested these textured rollers with our Tuff Cab Speaker Paint, and determined they are an excellent way of applying Tuff Cab Speaker Paint, to create a professional looking finish with the minimum of hassle. This roller is not suitable for use with solvented paints.
Best results with Tuff Cab are obtained with two medium-thick coats, this is generally sufficient to cover bare plywood and mdf. Additional coats will give a thicker more durable paint covering.
The 9" rollers can be used very effectively in conjunction with the Tuff Cab Mini Roller. We use the mini-roller by dipping directly into the paint tub (no need for a roller tray) and spreading the paint roughly over the desired area. By switching to the 9" roller it is possible to get a more even spread over a wide panel without any annoying roller edge lines.
Application: When rollering Tuff Cab paint, start by thoroughly covering one speaker panel with an even coat of paint. Do not apply heavy pressure, repetitive rolling, and changing the direction of the roller is the best way to spread the paint evenly. Once an even coat has been achieve gradually reduce pressure with the roller so that as you finish you are just gently pulling the roller through with your fingertips.
Applying heavy pressure will leave line marks from the edges of the roller - light pressure is better.
Rolling too fast can leave a spiky sharp finish with Tuff Cab, which feels rough to the touch. For a smoother flatter finish, roll through slowly and evenly.
Roller length 9", inside diameter 1.5".
