Eminence PXB2-2K5CX Two Way Crossover 2.5kHz
SPECIFICATION
Type: 2-way
Cabinet Ready: No
Crossover Frequency: 2500 Hz Asymmetric
Slope: 12 dB/octave
Impedance: 8 ohms
Power Handling: 250 W
HF Level: -3.5 dB
Designed for a two way speaker cabinet with overall power handling of approximately 250W-500W. The Crossover has one input and two outputs, one for bass, and one for treble.
The Bass output would typically go to a woofer, such as a 15" or 12" loudspeaker, in some instances you maye even find a suitable 10" speaker, and handles all the frequencies up to the crossover frequency. In a two way system the woofer will often handle some or all of the mid-range, depending on the crossover frequency. You should select a driver with a frequency response to cover the range required.
Tweeter selection depends on frequency and power handling, for 3.5Khx and 5Khz a popular selection is the APT80 or APT150, for cabinets with a lower crossover frequency (1.6 Khz) you could also consider the ASD1001 or PSD2002 mounted on a horn such as the H290 or H290. You should ensure the tweeter usable frequency range extends down beyond the crossover frequency to ensure correct operation.
All the products mentioned above are available from us, please note these are guidelines only, and are not intended as a specific system solution. If you wish to design your own speaker cabinets we recommend you research this thoroughly before commencing. Unfortunately we are not able to provide design advice.
