PCB9004 for TUFF8718 NL4MPXX Speakon Dish
Fed up of wasting time wiring up links on speakons?
We were too...
So we created this handy little PCB which lets you quickly and easily link all pins on a pair of Neutrik NL4MP, with the option to mount a 4 way screw terminal block, or just solder 2.5mm wires directly to the PCB. Depending on your tools, we estimate that this can bring down the assembly time of a speakon panel down to under 4 minutes, whereas stripping back link wires and direct soldering can typically take 10-15 minutes (or more), a MASSIVE time saving if you're building batches of speakers.
You can secure wires with a cable tie using one or both of the slots cut into the PCB.
Price is per PCB - there are two in the image to show front and back. Speakons and Dishes are not included.
The first image shows both sides of the PCB - it is a double sided PCB, and the side with the white silk screen print is where the pins of the speakon stick through. You should be able to see the pin identification on the PCB when soldering.
The second image is for illustrative purposes to show a finished configuration - terminal blocks and speakon connectors ARE NOT INCLUDED and must be purchased separately.
The third image show the complete assembly with the speakon sockets mounted on a recess dish using M3 nuts/bolts. However, if you use the TUFF8718 and mount from the front, you can use the threaded holes in the dish and eliminate the need for a nut.
The fourth image show an alternative wiring option without the screw terminal connectors. There are two sets of solder pads suitable for wire of up to 2.5 sq mm CSA.
The spacing between connectors on this PCB is designed to match up perfectly with our twin speakon dish:TUFF8718 - Recessed Steel Connector Plate for 2 x Speakon - also available as a ready-to-assemble kit, with all required components, or as a completely finished, fully soldered cabinet-ready sub assembly
Alternatively you can use this on your own panels with the spacing between the centres of the speakons at 55mm.

Distance between Speakon centrres: 54mm
Copper thickness: 2.8 mils (0.0711mm)
Average track width linking between pins: 12mm
The tracks between pins feature a high surface area, and over the short distance have a VERY low resistance calculated to be approximately 0.001 ohms (it's so small we can't physically measure it).
Current carrying capacity in excess of 25 amps.
ASSEMBLY When assembling, the silk screen printed pinout information should be on the soldered side of the board.
Use a HOT iron, with good power rating (50W recommended( - use a generous amount of solder and apply heat to ensure the solder flows through to both sides of the PCB and completely fills the gap and covers the pads on the PCB.
Using too little solder can leave the finished product structurally weak.
